OPEN_CALL_GSSIA total of 10 PhD positions in “Urban Studies and Regional Science” are now available at the Gran Sasso Science Institute (l’Aquila, Italy), where our faculty member, Lorenzo Chelleri, is a postdoctoral research fellow. (He is also a founder member and coordinator of the Urban Resilience Research Network.)

The paid, full-time, 3-year position starts in November 2016 and offers a unique opportunity for anyone in the field of urban studies–human geography, spatial planning, urbanism, urban politics and policies, urban sociology and ethnography–to immerse themselves in a transdisciplinary methodological perspective of research and teaching.

The yearly amount of the scholarship is €16.159,91 (gross), and benefits include waived tuition fees; free accommodation at the GSSI facilities or a financial substitute of €350 gross/month; and free luncheon vouchers.
