We are proud to announce that our co-director Sandra Bestraten, together with her associate Emilio Hormías, were recently awarded by AJAC (Association of Young Architects of Catalunya) for their work Toca Tierra (Touch Earth).
Toca Tierra is the result of a 15-year research on the use of earth as a building material, an investigation which was featured in the Spanish indexed journal Informes de Construcción (CSIC Instituto Eduardo Torroja) n523 (July 2011). The prize pertained to the category of architecture communication, awarded to projects that communicate architecture to a wider audience.
Sandra is the co-director of our masters program and coordinator of the Area of Cooperation at ESARQ-UIC.
