In an urban action organized by our masters group together with the local municipality, students will be hosting a community participation session in Ciutat Meridiana, tomorrow December 1st as part of the Ciutat Meridiana workshop, which aims to improve the living conditions of this peripheral Barcelona neighborhood with the highest eviction rate in Spain.
Students have been assessing the urban and socio-economic characteristics of the neighborhood in preparation for a series of surveys, interviews and mapping tours carried out tomorrow that will engage the community and collect necessary data to develop a series of tools and intervention proposals that will be officially presented on December 19th. These include a guide map of cultural routes of the neighborhood, a manual for citizen participation for the physical improvement of the neighborhood, an online crowdmap of vacant apartments and opportunities for public spaces, a diagnostic and proposal for enhanced mobility and a proposal for a civic axis connecting the different areas of the neighborhood.
From 10am to 1pm at Plaça Roja, residents of Ciutat Meridiana will be sharing information on key aspects of the neighborhood’s identity, potential areas for improvement, and assessing its most critical needs.
