Unnatural Disasters and the Future of Resilience | February 2, 2017
On February 2nd, 2017 the Development by Design conference with Roca featured its third and final guest speaker Eric Cesal, post-disaster architect whose talk explored the contemporary contradictions in disaster and resilience, dissecting the social, legal and economic forces that drive risk into our built environment. Cesal has led reconstruction programs in post-earthquake Haiti and post-Japan, and is currently co-host of the Curry Stone Design Prize’s Social Design Insights podcast. He is a visiting professor of our master program.
